  • 20 Feet From Stardom

    Lisa Fischer is a featured artist in the Academy Award-winning documentary 20 Feet from Stardom, which highlights the lives of talented backup singers. The film brought Fischer, a longtime backup singer into the spotlight, allowing her to transition more into a solo career.

    The 2013 documentary was directed by Morgan Neville. The same year Fischer started charting her own course performing as lead vocalist for Afro-Caribbean, jazz, and progressive rock band Grand Baton.

    Grand Baton is led by French guitarist, arranger, and musical director Jean Cristophe (JC) Maillard. Along with keyboards and vocals, Maillard plays a hybrid guitar/banjo called a banjitar and his Turkish SazBass. An instrument he had designed and created by French luthier Herve Prudent.

    Goods can deliver mastery of the electric bass and stand-up acoustic bass. along with backing vocals. Goodman's whole career has been about groove. He believes it's the most important thing in any music, even classical.
